I tow my boat with a Toyota 4-Runner and the truck "squats" a little too much with the boat hooked up. Can anyone recommend the best shocks to eliminate the squatting without sacrificing the truck's ride? Does anyone use adjustable shocks?

I'm diffinately no expert but the first thing I thought of when I read your post was maybe you need to do some adjustments on your trailer. On my trailer I can loosen bolts on the winch arm to slide it. Sliding it towards the back of the trailer would put more weight behind the tires making the rig lighter in front. I hope this helps.

go to a trailer hitch shop and check on a torsion(SP)bar hitch system it takes half the tounge weight off the rear axle and transfers it to the front axle. you will not have to modify your truck this way . cost is approx. $400. good system

I had same problem with my jeep. I put on four Rancho 9000's shocks. The Rancho's have five ride settings from soft to firm. These shocks took care of my problem. The cost of four shocks and install was about $400. Go to a off road truck dealer they can help you the most.

Just put a pair of monroe air max shocks on a 2000 ford explore. this type of shock has a tire valve with air lines running to the shocks you mount the valve were ever is convenent and then fill with with up to a 100psi. air. Don,t do it very often as I have a full size pick-up to pull my 3800lb but in a pinch I can use the explore to tow. Once boat is droped on hitch 75lbs. of air will bring the rear end up 2.5 inches. Cost of shocks $65.00 for a pair, I installed them myself in about a hr. Good fishing to you.
