what length trolling motor do you have on your 1890 pro-v's? I have a 48" 824 but need more length. Is 54" enough or should I get it extended to 60"? Thanks in advance.

Asked the same question last year, and the consensus was to get the 60" shaft. Helps in rough water. Can adjust depth for shallower water if needed.

I had a 54in on a 1890 PRO V LE and it worked fine in calm water and I used it for years. But if was starting to get a little rough the motor would pop out of the water. The flip side to that is if it gets that rough, you won't be using your front trolling motor. If you buy either motor make sure you put a Ram mount to stabilize the shaft. That long shaft moves around alot in rough water and if you put a travel cover on your boat the head of the auto pilot won't be rubbing on the deck of your boat.
