I have a Skeeter 1775 tiller.I would like to add a bow mount trolling motor to the boat(I already run a Minnkota Maxxum 65BT on the transom).I prefer a motor with a twist tiller design and the Maxxum bracket.I have decided to buy a Minnkota Maxxum 74H but I'm concerned with the shaft lenth of only 52''.I will only use this motor in calmer water but I'am afraid it still might be a little short. What are your thoughts here and what would you suggest.Thanks.
my suggestion would be get a different motor with a 60" shaft, you'll need it with the deep hull on the skeeter!

I'll second the motion for a 60" shaft. I run a 1775 SC and you will eventually need all 60 inches...Good luck...SkeeterBoy

I saw in the Minnkota catalog a Riptide RT74/B with a 62"shaft is this the same as the Maxxum 74H witch is only availible in a 42" or 52"? Other than corrosion protection is it any different,I have not seen many of the salt water motors in Minnesota. How much more do they cost, where can I get one.
