View Full Version : Ride Comparison-619-620-205 & 2000
I am looking for some honest comparisons on the ability of each of these boats to handle rough water. Speed is my secondary concern. I am considering each of the boats listed- the Rnager 619 or 620, the Triton 205, aqnd the Targa 2000. Anybody out there who has also compared these boats based on their ride, I would really appreciate any advice on the matter.

Well this one is easy. The Tracker Targa 2000 IS the best riding boat in this class. Unmatched. 1.Targa 2000 2.Ranger 620 3. Triton 205 When you have to get there in a hurry in heavy water its Targa Time! And they are not slow- I have had my Targa to 62.1 GPS with two guys, gear, and gas. Only a Triton (in flat water) with a strong motor will be faster. JC

It is true that the Targa is a rough water king. However, it is quite known that Targa's have a history of blowing engines. The Targa is still a very good boat, though. The Ranger 620 does come in a very close second. This boat really shines on 2-4 foot chop. It'll beat most any boat on the water at that time. And the 620 isn't as "slow" as some people like to think. With a 225, it can be put in the mid to upper 60's on GPS, with the correct setup. Like many glass boats, it is a very "soft" ride, too. The 205 is a fast and smooth boat on glass, but doesn't compare to the Ranger or Targa on heavy seas.
