I was just wondering if due to the buyout of OMC....are there any really good deals on Evinrude and Johnson outboard motors? In particular the 4-stroke kickers? I am waiting to save up enough money for a Yamaha T8, but I could settle for an Evinrude if the price was right.

According to one of the local dealers,that opportunity had come and gone. Since they are back up and running,they are now able to offer their full warranties now.So no breaks anymore.

Soory to bring bad news to you. I was in contact with Bombardier on friday about some warranty work on my 99, 90hp ficht and was told from them(Bombardier) that I have no warranty!!! I asked why and was told that they are only going to warranty 2000 engines and newer. From what I understand, if you bought extended warranty you are out of luck as well. You might want to phone for yourselves on this one. No wonder their past colors were YELLOW!!

Extended warranties are most generally through third party companies like Passport, for instance. They are not nor were they owned by OMC. I doubt there is any wiggle room for them to get out of covering an extended warranty motor.

How do you say "warranty"in French?? Maybe they just didnt understand! Le Warrrenteeee? Wee Wee???
