WELL WE ALL RECEIVED OUR LETTERS FROM THE MWC STATING THE CHANGE TO 0CT 16-20 I THINK THATS GREAT BUT THE PART THAT I'M REALLY UPSET ABOUT IS WHEN THEY STATED THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A BIIGER PAYOUT AND STIFFER COMPITITION BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO KEEP THE INFO A SECRET FOR NOW. WELL I'LL TELL YOU WHAT THE WAY THE MWC IS BEING RUN THEY BETTER NOT KEEP[ TO MANY SECRETS. I'VE TALKED TO ALOT OF QUALIFIERS AND THEY ARE FED UP WITH THE MWC. PETE IF YOU WANT THE MWC TO SUCCEED PLEASE NO SECRETS TELL IT LIKE IT IS LIKE BEV AND KAZ DID FOR ALL THOSE YEARS AND WE WERE ALL HAPPY.

I hear ya. there's so many walleye tournaments out there that are equal to or alot better than the mwc. It's to bad that they are having these problems. Maybe they can lure KAZ out of retirement to try to save it, but i doubt it. I would like to see walleye central start there own walleye circuit i think they would do very well mainly because of there staff there great people and really honest,oh well see ya at the championship i hope!

Hey Jigger,
Lure Kaz out of retirement? We at Walleye Central did just that. Kaz is now the Editorial Director of Walleye Central. He is also spearheading the Magazine with Scott and Zach.
As for a Walleye Central circuit? I personally wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. :P
Have fun.....R

I was just wondering what are the issues that you so strongly dislike about the MWC. I have fished the circut off and on for about 5 years. I have fished other tournaments and none have been run as smoothly as the MWC. Just curious as to why you are so "fed up" with them.

I THINK THE MWC IS BEING RUN FAIRLY WELL, WITH ALL THE WALLEYE TOURNAMENTS POPPING UP ALL OVER THE MIDWEST ALOT OF GUYS ARE FISHING MORE CLOSE TO HOME, I BELIEVE THAT WHY THE ENTRIES ARE DOWN. AS FAR AS THE INFO ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP I KNOW PETE WILL ANNOUNCE EVERYTHING REAL SOON,AS FAR AS THE SECRETS AND THE STIFFER COMPITITION I'M SURE THAT WILL BE EXPLAINED WHEN ALL THE DETAILS ARE WORKED OUT. I'VE BENN FISHING THE MWC OFF AND ON FOR THE PAST 14 YEARS I FISHED THEM ALL LAST YEAR BUT THIS YEAR I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING TO NORTHERN WISC, BUT NEXT YEAR I'LL BE BACK TO FISH THEM ALL AND BE PART OF THE MWC FAMILY AGAIN.

Hey Jigger,
I have no "inside" scoop on the MWC. I do see them trying to grow and expand into new waters and regions and I know there is plans for divisions next year or so. Did you read the MWC chat with Pete Wuebker from a little while back?
Although I will say this, I see a circuit struggling (under the weight of public opinion and recent rescheduling hassles due to mother nature) to keep up under the weight of Kaz and Bev's former guidance there.
I think the MWC will be around for a long time. And I hope it will. Why there is so much hoopla and speculation surrounding Wildlife forever and the MWC's every decision is beyond me, frankly.
Change is inevitable, and to that point, every MWC tourney I fished last year was well run and left no lingering questions in my mind. But I think there are always going to be, periods of, unstability when a new organization takes the helm of an existing entity.
As to what other team circuit I would fish? Right now, none. I am not gonna do any circuits for a while. I am gonna fish an event here and there, but no full circuits.
I also think that right now, there is not another team circuit to compare with the MWC. There are several very good team circuits out there besides the MWC, but none that are really within the same parameters. The MWC fills a niche, as does the PWT and the RCL and USFA and MWT and so on. (Sorry if I missed some, I know I did)
Have fun......R

It dos'nt seem to matter what Pete does you are going to ##### and whine!!
We all know KAZ and BEV did a great job running the MWC! but if you think for one minute that everyone was happy all the time in a state of euphoria you are dead wrong. If you don't think this is true just ask BEV or KAZ.There were plenty of bumps and potholes in there road to success with the MWC!Even under there excellent leadership there still were problems right to the end. Its part of the nature of the business. You are NEVER going to make everyone happy all of the time ESPECIALLY "MWCER"!!!

P.S. "MWCER" I did'nt catch your name maybe you can post it next time?!
Pete keep up the good work!! I too have talked with a number of qualifiers and none are negative like "MWCER"
All you ever hear is how people are fed up with the MWC but you never hear why? There really hasn't been much that has changed since WF took the circuit over. It is still the premier team tournament walleye circuit in the country and the grandfather of all of them.
Two tournaments had to be rescheduled due to catastrophic flood conditions on the Mississippi River. I think they handled it as well as you could have handled it.
October on the Mississippi River? Everyone is going to love it, what a great time to have a championship tournament on the Mississippi.
Zach
The only problem with the MWC right now is all of the bashing it is taking. It has lost some anglers to the other tournaments but it also did when the PWT started. It will rebound. I agree with Zach, it is the grandfather of all walleye tournaments and that is a feel you feel at every tournament. I was very impressed with how WF ran the championship at Red Wing last year and am very much looking forward to it this October. Low, clear water, colors on the trees, cool temps, and usually a very strong bite. I'm ready.
