Eric,
I use a boat wax made by Turtle Wax. I use the same wax for my boat. It makes the cowling shine and the motor looks like new after a good shine. Makes the boat look mighty fine, too.
Remember to keep your eyes open and your feet dry.

A very diluted water/vinegar mix is really good at removing those water spots, too....

Eric that boat is going to look brand new when your done with it one that you will be proud to have on the water and it will look that way for a long time if you take care of it like you seem to be.
If you have the rod lockers in the side and they will only take a 7' rod check at what they hit because Skeeter puts a kick plate for your feet under the consel and it extends all the way to the side of the boat and thats what your rod tips hit when putting them away.
I pulled the kick plates out on both sides and cut the corner that is the end of the rod locker off and wala I have a 8 1/2' rod locker all the way to the livewell and if I feed the rod carefull I could go all the way to the bow storage that looks to be 10'. I used the triangle I cut off with some 1 1/2" aluminum angle to attach it for a support for the kick plate because it was kinda loose to begin with.
I really enjoy working on my boat since there is nothing to do here in MN the lakes are froze and the rivers are flooding with multiple logs and whole trees floating in the water it is asking for trouble to be out there it's call lower unit be gone LOL.
If you come up with a good way to store your anchor I'd like to hear it. Iv'e tried the milk crate and it covers a corner of the bow storage compartment when it sits in the corner which will be a pain. I think I'll install a heavy duty gallon or so pail in the bow storage to hold the line and fabricate an aluminum bracket that will hold a 25# richter that I have next to in and maybe some velcro strap to hold it secure.
What fun!!! pointers from the pros are welcome.
Good luck Eric And I still only have 3 things to say about boat maintenance products MMM LOL.

I use diluted white vinegar (put it in a spray bottle and mist it on) to remove the water spots. After the spots are gone I wax it with Meguires (sp?).

Something I rad here is buy a $2.00 extension cord wrap at the hardware store to wrap you anchor line around. I ddin't think that I would get my 100' of line around it, but I did. Haven't had to use it yet, but sure keeps the storage compartment clean.

Also check with your local welding supply dealer. They usually have empty welding wire spools of different sizes.
