I can't tell you too much about it yet, I'm only 3 hours into breaking mine in. Started right up and is running great. I still haven't had it over 3000 rpms yet, I'm breaking it in to the letter of the manual (it tells you not to go over half throttle for the first 5 hours). I can tell you that my father-in-law has one on his 95 Stratos and he has never had a problem (and he isn't exactly easy on it, very poor maintainance). I'm hoping it will push my 2000 Princecraft 169 DLX in the mid to high 40's.
Good luck with you decision.

The OMC 90HP technology is one of the most proven out there.. I have seen many 90 and 115HP Johnsons/Evinrudes that just never seem to die. As far as performance it's hard to compare apples to apples with Merc (cause they have a 100HP), but my experience has been that the 90 OMC will have a little better hole shot than Mercs but a little less top end.

Just the way I like 'em.. Great motor.

If this is the same basic engin as a 1995 90 hp johnson then you are in for a treat. I have had my engine for 6 years and the only problem was the bendix mechanism needed lubrication. It would spin instead of engage when starting. This was VERY minor. It performs well and I have towed in my Mercury friends who always hassle me for buying OMC. Good luck and I think you made a good choice.
