It certainly sucks to have a problem with a new boat. Have you tried changing the primer bulb? Just a thought.

Also, make sure there is not a kink in the fuel line anywhere. That happened to our last motor/boat when it was new. Ran good when above idel, but at idle it would crap out.

Good luck,

My friend had trouble and he bought a knew bulb.He still had the same trouble and I said it seems like the bulb. Of course his reply was it is a knew bulb. After some time he bought another knew bulb and it has worked well ever since.

Had that problem last year with my 115 FICHT. Ran great in 99 and then three days into a canada trip it ran out of fuel twice in one day, turns out the primer bulb had the one way valves installed wrong. The motor tried to suck the ball up the fuel line into the motor. Robbed an old bulb off a merc tank and it ran fine after that. Now I know some of you guys are thinking, yea sounds like an old girlfriend...;)

ditto on the bulb thing. But if thats not it, it could possibly be a bad vent in the tank. Just open your gas lid and if it pops or hisses it isn't venting properly. Could also be a partially plugged fuel filter. Some times new boats have crud in the fuel lines from manufacturing and it plugs the filter.

This probably is not the problem, but when I go my new 70 evinrude, the dealer ran it through a gas tank and when I first had the boat on the water it ran for a few minutes then quit, after about a hour my father hooked the buld up reverse of the way the arrows were on it and it has worked fine ever since!!!

thanks for the input guys but i got a call from the dealer today and it appears after only 10 hours of break in procedure my new johnson has a bad powerhead . this took 8 weeks to determine. omc is going to replace the powerhead free of charge and for any inconvienence this has caused my dealer is going to give me a half a gallon of omc oil free needless to say my next lund will not come from this dealer and no way will it come with an omc on it . i saved $2000.00 by taking this rig with a motor i did not want . this will never happen again
