checked a few creeks and rivers last night and im am still seeing alot of walleyes in there. i dont know if they are done spawning or not, but i am starting to get a little worried about the opener here in minnesota. might be a little too early? any response would be great

I don't know about MN, but in Utah the spawn is well over. I caught a 5.5 lb eye last week that was still full of undeveloped, white eggs. But if you looked at the fish's anus area (not the poop chute, but the egg chute--whatever it's called), it looked red and a little swollen like the fish had already spawned. Water temp was 60.
Any ideas what's going on with the fish? Those couldn't be next year's eggs already, could they??
