Here is the problem. I do not store or trailer my boat with any kind of cover such as a tarp or garage. I also remove my VHF radio and my X85 when storing or traveling. This leaves 6 plugs that are not protected. Has anyone come up with a way to protect these plugs when not hooked up to the units?

Thanks,

If you store outside with no protection for the plugs you can wrap them in plastic etc.
You can also pack them with dilectric grease. You have seen this before. It is the thick yellow grease that they put in taillamps in vehicles and trailers where the bulb is exposed to water. It does not insulate the terminals from each other and conducts electrons well. You can get it at the auto parts store.

I spray them periodically with contact cleaner and when they are not plugged into the monitors, I enclose each of them into a small plastic bag and wrap a rubber band around it. I also do the same to my truck trailer plug over the winter. Seems to help.

You can use those rubber finger tips that you see clerk, postal workers etc using or small balloons.
