I'm looking at buying a 1992 with 90 h.p. Evinrude, 9.9 4 stroke yamaha, Minn-kota 48# trolling motor .Impulse graph with Loran, Eagle G.P.S.. radio etc, Shorelandr roller trailer..Excellent shape... Any thoughts about this rig. And what do you think is a fair price? thanks, tom

Tom,
I've got a 1994 1890 dlx and I've really enjoyed the boat. Is the rig you're looking at a tiller steer?? If you're looking at a console steer, 90 is bit under powered, but 90hp would be ok for a tiller model. I've got a 9.9 Yammie 4-stroke too, excellent little kicker, never misses a beat. The Minn-Kota has enough thrust for all but the strongest current - the only thing I was disappointed in with mine was the shaft length, a 48" shaft wouldn't keep the prop in the water in any semblance of rough water.

I seen a 96 Lund 1890 console for sale in front of a house. It has a Mariner 150, Mariner 9.9 four stroke kicker, 2 extra seats, 2 locators and shorelander trailer. The sign said "$14,900 OBO" and this boat has been for sale for 2 months.

Tom,
Go to www.nadaguides.com and click on the "marine" link. You can price out both boat and motor on-line.

I have a 96 1890LE with 175HP 4blade renegade ssp. It has handeled over 8ft rollers on the Missouri river no problem but if you need to quarter a 2 to 3 ft wave it can make for a wet ride. I can hit 65 on calm conditions. With a 3ft wave bring good raingear. I agree 90 might be underpowered I know mine is rated at 175. Good luck.
No offence, but I doubt that rig can even approach 60mph. Not to start a war, but I've got a 2000 1800 Pro V Se with a 175 efi and 4 blade trophy plus prop, panther jack lift... The highest I've ever hit is 55mph. This was measured by my gps. I usually run at 53 at wot.

OK OK OK I'm a fisherman you know you should have seen the one that got away. It also comes from all those years in the field artillery all we had to get was close. Another thing I was all wet about litterally was that ride quartering a 2 to 3ft wave.
