Yea, one big ugly slimey toothy northern!

Let me just prelude this with the fact that the lake we were fishing today doesn't have any walleye in it. We had to go for the slimey gators and bass.

Dad and I had a great time out on Rome today. Good fishing and great company..It doesn't get any better! ;-)
We ended up with 16 Northerns in about 4 1/2 hours. We missed around 9 or so. 4 were over 32 inches with the biggest one measuring in at 36". On average though, the fish were in the 24-30" size range.
I had one that rocketed out of the water at me, right at the boat, which caught me off guard, and made me scream..heheh He hit the side of the boat, with a "thud"... Too funny! Only one bass caught all day (3#'s), but we think some of the short hits were bass too. Everything was caught on the Mepps #4 gold bladed bucktail spinner. We only kept one for the smoker, and everything else went back in to swim for another day.
