I shot my first turkey yesterday(Don't know what took me so long to start that.), and after adding up the cost of calls, decoys, camo clothing for warm weather, and gasoline, he only cost $10 per pound. That's based on live weight, I'm afraid to calculate the cost/pound based on just the meat, no innards, feathers, or bone.
One of the better walleye anglers I've known claimed his fish dinners only cost $80/pound.
What the heck, it's fun!

If your friend gets by at $80 per pound on walleyes, he is either an excellent fisherman or has purchased very little equipment and does not value his time.
Factor time in even at minimum wage and see what you get.
At $10 per #, you couldn't have amortized anything in for a gun or bow, musta used a rock. Did you nail him with a high fastball or a curve?

A Smith & Wesson Supertwelve shotgun (remember those?) and a single 3" magnum load of #4 shot. The gun has depreciated to nothing in all eyes but my own. It's still my choice when shooting any magnum loads, because it weighs about 8 1/2 pounds. Very low recoil.

He is ****ed good. Seems to catch fish almost at will. Lots of attention to details, and won't give up.
Our outdoor hobbies are still cheap when you stop to consider that most therapists probably charge at least $150 an hour!
