I finally did it. Last week I ordered an 1800 ProV tiller with an 80 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. I'm debating on whether to put anchormate II's on it. The dealer will have the cover custom made to fit over them. My question is has anyone mounted anchormate II's on a ProV and are you happy with them? Thanks in advance. This website helped me decide on my boat and motor.

Yikes!

Don't do it. Mine wasnt prov, but similar size. The A-mates stink, IMHO. They were on when we bought the boat, and we took them off after the first trip out.

The anchors either dont weight enough to hold, or you end up cranking up a bunch of weeds on them, and you have to bend over side to clean them anyway. If you only fish in rocky areas, possibly...

They are good idea that just doesnt work.

Spend money on bait or rods or something else...

Good luck,

A few years ago, I bought the Minnkota 35# version and had the same type of experience as Box. Worse yet, the rope kept jumping the spool and binding requiring removal of the cover to fix. Worst $150 I've ever spent. Save your money.

Jay-

Ask yourself "Why do I see so few walleye boats with anchor systems on them, and the ones I do see are owned by old dudes that may not be able to lift a typical anchor"

The answer isn't $$

I have the same problem as Steve(IL) with the Minnkota 35# electric anchor thingy. What a pain in the A$$. Unfortunately I'm stuck with mine because it's a B-day gift from the folks. If I could I would put it back in the original box, put a bow on it and send to my worst enemy. JUNK!
