View Full Version : Towing w/Spashgaurds
Do you guys take off your splashgaurds for every trip? I know most brands are supposed to be "easy on and off". How far and how fast can you go without worrying about them cracking or blowing off on the highway?
Thanks.

I haven't heard of anybody taking em off to travel or having problems traveling with them on. Usually they are laid back plenty far to cause very little wind resistance.

I agree with Chad. I have always left mine on (Wave-Wackers), and have had no problems. Been doing this for at least 15 years.
Doubt that this is the "recommended proceedure", but, I have had no problems by leaving them on.

Good question. I have made 3 trips with my new boat and with the first two trips that were over 500 miles each round trip, I took them off and the windsheild on my ProV 1775. The last trip was only 100 miles round trip and I left the wavewackers and the windsheild on and did not notice any significant gas MPG change on the Tahoe telling me they do not cause significant wind resistance. I think the windshield should come off but on the shorter trips I think I will leave the wavewackers on...
