Got a Fish Eagle 800 a few yrs ago and the 2nd season the bail spring failed. Got a few other reels so I either use it manual or use another reel.
Finally took it to a good local shop with a Shakespear 2000 I got in Highschool early 70's. Guess what they fixed the almost 30 yr old Shakespear but couldn't get parts for the Cabela's.
"special made for Cabela's, parts not readily avaialable, Same Problem with BassPro reels they said"
I called Cabela's and they said to send it back and explain what the problem was and what I wanted done. So I sent it back in a plain brown box.
Got a letter yesterday from Cabela's, all they got an empty box!
It seems someone at the US Post Office likes Cabela's returns and I didn't think to insure it! My loss.
Lesson one: Buy major Brand name reels the local shop or you can work on and get parts for if needed.
Lesson two: Always insure whatever you send in the mail unless your willing to give it away to a stranger.
