Merc 90 Help Please

I have a brand new Merc 90 2 stroke that stops running when I throttle down to neutral. Starts right back up. I know it will be a warranty fix, however, what is going on? Any opinions.

Has your motor been "off" of its double oil mixture? I have the same motor as yours and once I made it through all of that gas and cleaned the plugs it runs much better. It keeps on running better after each time it is out. I would try to clean the plugs and run a can of Sea Foam through it and see if it helps.

I had a 45 mariner do the same thing.It turned out to be the anti-sipon thing in the squeze bulb causing a fuel lock or vapor lock.I took the anti-sipon thing -majig out and the motor ran fine.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM W/ A 9.9 MERC.I GOT RID OF IT TOO...
