ZIP, a 3' scratch in the side of my new baby. How can I fix a not too deep scratch in the gel coat. I is deeper that just the surface and has chipped a little in places. Kaz, June 2001 issue of "Bass & Walleye Boats" Has a nice step by step article for fixing the scratch you mention. Doesn't look too bad. I think even I could tackle the job?? LOL Good luck!

Hi Kaz...
There's a great product out there called "G3" that, when used according to directions, nearly wipes out surface scratches. I know that may sound like a commercial, but I've used it on my boat and my wife's new truck! If I can convince her, I can convice anyone...(just kidding honey).
Give it a shot...

Hey Kaz,
I might suggest a good 12 year old single malt scotch, a glass of ice, and a few hankies..I feel your pain man..lol

If it is chipped I expect a 'do it you're self' is going to be tough. If you don't think you can fix it you're self I know who can fix it for you. Midwest Fiberglass; just north of Cedar Falls Iowa. 319 232-1268. I will guarantee they will fix even major holes or scratches and you will never be able to find where it was when they are done. I saw a repair they did on a bass boat-a pontoon boat hit it in the side and the pontoon left a huge hole in the bass boat. When done you could not tell anything ever happened...
