Has anyone heard about the changes on the new 620's, I heard you can get a single console now, moving the gas tank back to the middle of the boat, a foot longer, two level rod locker and will be available with a 225 four stroke??????????
I talked to Ranger a couple weeks ago and they said the new consoles will not be molded into the boat, they will be seperate pieces that can be screwed in. This is how they are making other boats currently.
They are also moving the gas tank back farther in the boat.
There are no other changes that I am aware of.
Good question though: If they move the gas back and put a four stroke 225 on the back, will the added weight to the back half of the boat be too much??

Yamaha's 225 4-stroke is only available in a 25" transom. Won't fit on a 620. FYI, that 4-stroke is lighter than a 225 Opti.
The length is the same as before. There are a few other things that have changed, but I was asked not to let the cat out just yet.
I'll be getting one of the new ones very shortly, so I'll let you know what I think.

OK, looks like I'm going to have to wait, that's not a bad idea about going down and taking a tour, I went down and took a tour when I picked up my boat there a couple of years ago, you leave there a lot more confident of the investment you made. might have to do it again, I really like my Optimax but sure would like to have a mercury 225 4 stroke on my next one.
