Any advice on what/how(not if)to buy and outfit a pontoon for recreational fishing.
troll motors etc.

I have a '98 Crestliner 2085 that I love to fish out of. Talk about your casting decks. The boat is designed with fishing in mind. It has pedestals in all 4 corners and a large livewell under the bench seat. The sides are about 18 inches instead of the standard 24-36 which helps a great deal. I have a Suzuki 70 hp 4 stroke and a Minnkota 52 AP mounted on the bow. The Suzuki is a dream. I use my vexilar FL8 on the trolling motor and a X85 on the back. I also added a timer to the livewell and mounted 4 rod holders. The boat is very stable and has handled 4-5 footers on Leech. While I don't trailer it more than 4-5 times a year it rides well for a boat that's more than 20 feet long and 8 feet wide.
Finally I would add that I looked at just about every pontoon out there and nothing else fishes nearly as well. Let me know if I can help with anything else. ~xxXXXx> -
