Have a ten year old steel 6 gallon Yamaha,
that is all gummed up. Was wondering what would be the best way to clean the tank, I have serious doubts as to whether or not the intake apparutus will ever be cleanable and I believe thats the problem. Stabile?

Pay someone to steam clean it.

I've had some pretty fair luck with gummed up gas cans using Berryman's Carb Cleaner in the gallon can. It has the built in parts basket also. I get it at Northern/Shucks/Checkers/Kragen automotive. Pour it in and let it work. Slosh it around every hour or so and pour it out the next day. Clean pretty well. Air dry the tank before refilling. Hope that's a useful tip. Good luck!

Thanks guys, Stabile was all I could think of got two steel tanks, and two plastic. The steel come in handy for those extra tank areas where gas and a hot vehicle do not mix and run in a vacum. No fumes what so ever.
