This really only pertains to those of us in MN since we have one of the latest openers in the country, but I can't tell you what this is going to do to my general attitude once I have got my fill of sitting on the water with a rod in my hand. The true right of spring!

With the boat nearly finished and all the gear cleaned and inventoried twice, I am ready.

For some reason this year's opener seams to be sitting with greater anticipation then in years past. Could be an illusion, but does anyone else feel that way?

Have a safe and enjoyable Opener!...4 days and counting.

Aquaman,
Had a chance to go next door to Wisconsin last weekend helping a buudy prefish for a bass tourney and caught a 41/2-5 lb. walleye on a spinnerbait off a windswept rip rap shoreline. Unbelievable feeling! gave her a quick smootch on the chops and put her back in. Just to be out on the water was great but to catch a bonus like that was even better. Have a safe opener and good luck.

I can't wait!

This is the first time in several years that I won't be demoing computer games out in LA during the opener! I am looking forward to this so much, and the weather looks just beautiful :)

Good luck to all!

this opener in mn really does seem to be a long time coming. the fact that we could not fish the river very much this spring has added to the anticipation.
good luck to all this weekend and be safe.

looking forward to those reports next week!!!

Openers are always highly anticipated. You may have a new boat and motor and usually some new equipment to try out. This year I only got out crappie fishing once and didn't make it to Redwing at all so I'm really ready to get out. Plus going back to a lake that has given up walleyes very generously the passed 2 years.

AquaMan, I'm with you, for some reason the anticipation this year has been eating away at me terribly. I can't take it anymore, good thing we only have a couple of days left or I don't know what would happen. I think it maybe gets tougher now because we can all come here and talk fishing anytime we want. But know that my boats ready, new 350A is mounted and reels and tackle are ready to go, I'm really looking forward to the next few months. Gotta Love It!!

Aquaman,
Yep, this one seems really highly anticipated.
I think because we've finally got a NORMAL opener, ice just went off, the walleye are just done spawning, the water temp is NORMAL not near 70:), rivers and streams are flowing again.
This ones gonna be FUN!!

I'm a transplanted Minnesotan, in Nebraska, but I "feel your pain"! I unfortunately have to wait till Memorial Day to drag my first line. However, I will be doing in style on Dove Island on Rainy Lake.
