Was wondering if this line would be ok for a slip bobber rig on millelacs? Thanks for any answers.

Can't say why not, all you really need for slip bobbering is a line that casts easily, is nice and limp so the bait can dance around naturally, and has decent abrasion resistance in case the fish gets you down in the rocks. I tried Finesse for jigging and liked it a lot.

How long has this line been around with Rapala's name on it?

The Rapala label is new this year. Is this a new line or is it just another old line with a new label?

About a week ago I bought a spool of 12# Rapala finesse fishing line just to try it. Put it on a new Shimano Curado baitcaster w/ a 5'6" Quantum xl im6 pistol grip rod. For a weight I used a 1/2oz. jig with the hook cut off. I walked over to the park across the street, put my hat on the grass as a target and walked back 25 paces. (About now, you are probably wondering why I bought 12# line. Reason: All light weight line is easy to cast so for an honest castability test you must go to a thicker, heavier line.) At 25 paces (aprox. 75 ft.) there was no problem putting the jig in the general area of the target using a simple side arm roll cast. This line has castability, but beyond that ????

It breaks too easy. My 12# test spool is going in the garbage. I'm going back to either Sensi Thin or SilverThread.

Deadeye you must be a great fisherman and the rest of us must be idiot's because because that stuff breaks very easily for it's test weight.

Now,Now,Now,guys....
The line breaks alright......but it breaks at rated strength.
Also, there are knots that are weaker than others.
Have we forgotten?

"Palomar knot" I don't think there is a stronger knot as a matter of fact when line is tested in the QC lab a palomar knot is used.
As far as test weight Rapala 6 lb. test has been able to withstand a load of between 6.4 and 7.5 lbs. over a 3.5 ft. span.
If you have any questions on this issue I would be more than happy to answer them. After all I am the greatest angler of all time.
