Does anyone fish the wave wacker tourney at Mille Lacs? I just started fishing tourneys and was wondering if it is hard to get into this tournament or if there are spots open. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to get yourself on the waiting list to fish this one I'm afraid. You won't get a spot until another team stops fishing it. It could be a long long wait.
I have a friend that has been on the list for five years now. He's still waiting.

Kind of like being on the season ticket list for the Green Bay Packers. Get on the list now, maybe your grandkids will fish it :-).

Early all good things in life are worth waiting for,the Wave Wacker Invitation is one of them. There are a little over two hundred teams invited every year and yes there is a waiting list. You can contact Herrick Enterprises at 612-825-2323,entry fee is $1100 per team with a $221,000 pay out!Good luck.

100 grand last year to the winners, and 75 grand this year. It is without a doubt the best run team walleye event in Minnesota IMO. if you cannot fish this tourney, try Nittis Hunter Point 2 weeks later. Always around 10 grand for first and good payout through top 20, with 125+ teams entered. Great runner - up tourney with excellent competition. The best MIlle Lacs has to offer anyhow.

I've fished the Wave Wacker the past ten years. It's an excellent tourney, well run, great competition and a super time of the year to fish Mille Lacs. I would agree that Nitti's Hunter Point is also very well done, the entry fee is less but the quality of the anglers is still very good. This tourney takes place two weeks after the Wave Wacker. Also, the food that George Nitti serves after day 1 is hard to beat (all you can eat chicken, ribs, brats, burgers, pork loin, baked potatoes, potato salad , desserts, etc), it's included in your entrance fee.

wihtout a doubt, the food George has is hard to beat anywhere. with a cold bud lite after a day on the water, sure puts a guy to sleep in a hurry.
