I have a 620 Ranger and it handles the water very well. Its a heavy boat so the ride is pretty good. I have ridden in the 205 Triton and its a faster boat but lighter so its a little rougher riding. Both are nice rigs, layout is good in both of them. Pretty much comes down to personal preference. My wife rode in both boats as well and the end result is the Ranger. Engine is a 225 Opti, boat runs 53 to 55 average. The triton we rode in had a 225 Evinrude Ficht and ran around 60 loaded, but for us comfort wasmore important than speed. My 2 cents

I have been looking at both of these boats and I fish the same waters you do with a little Michigan salmon fishing thrown in. I guess of the two I like the Ranger for bigger water. Another boat you might check out is the new Skeeter 2050. I think it handles big water better and it is real fast. I have heard of 62-64mph with a 225 Yamaha. It is rated for a 250 and Yamaha just came out with one. I think I will probably be in a Skeeter next year.

Any of rhese boats will be excellent. I just hope they catch fish as well as my old boat.

I have been on all the waters that you have mentioned with our new Triton 205. And it handles the waters great. In 3-4 footers was very stable, my wife is not crazy about those kinds of waters but she felt safer in it than our alum. boat we had. First weekend we had it up on Winnebego in 2-3 footers. Was able to go about our fishing day with out concerns at all, as we would not been able before. Not been a 620 but, here they are a good boat too. Good luck fishing in which ever boat you get.
