View Full Version : Basic Lowrance X15
Is anybody running the basic X15 without the GPS option? If so, how does it perform right out of the box without all the upgrades?
Hi Gord,
I'm running a bare X-15 this spring. Sonar and display is super nice but I'm fighting some software bugs since day one. It's frustrating to pay a premium and become Lowrance's R & D.
If you're thinking X-15 you may consider waiting. Lowrance brings out a new software version every other week for this model.
If life's boring and you like to sit on hold during endless tele contact with Lowrance, this is the unit will give you a new phone pal!

I've got the basic X-15 sonar (no gps) with the single 200 kHz transducer and so far it's run perfectly. NO PROBLEMS!!! The detail and clarity are awesome (much better than the my 350A, which I liked very much). The chart speed is faster than the 350 too and it reads bottom clearly at 50 mph.
Granted, it's new this spring so I haven't been able to run it a lot yet, but to this point I'm very happy with it and would buy another one in a minute.
Hey Gord,
Here's an update on my X-15. Talked to Lowrance again today and they're sending a replacement unit. Two upgrades and no solution so they're sayin try another unit.
Had to post this update. I don't mind giving them ##### when they have it coming. In this case, better give em some credit for doing something about the problem.
Looking forward to graphing everything down below!
