I've mentioned something like this before, but now it is something I want to start tinkering with. I am running a lund 1890 Pro-v with a 90 tiller, high five prop, according to GPS its getting 35-37 WOT and my tach looks about 5200. I am just wondering what the max rpms are and where it should be running for speed. I had 2 people and a livewell full of water (no-fish) and 3/4 gas.
thanks for the help- again...

I have a 1890 PRO-V hit 53 to 55gps with a 175 HP but if you have no fish in the live well a faster top end won't help. Sorry about the remark I could not resist. Your results sound OK. Just go fishing and get some fish in that livewell. See ya on the water.

Eye guy-

Assuming that 90 is a Merc or Mariner, Max RPM is 5500. Sounds like you could jump down a pitch.

I'm running a 19' Alumacraft with a 90 HP Merc tiller, and typically get 32 MPH WOT at 5400 RPM with a SS Vengeance 18". That is fully loaded with 40 gal fuel.
