This year I have decided, weather permitting, to begin fishing at the 12:01 a.m. start time. I don't night fish very much and only have had limited success. What do you guys success I do for location and presentation.

Walleyeman, Where are you going to open? hard to give ideas, and/or tips, without knowing the lake or area.

It's a west-central MN lake. I am not looking for any lake specific techniques. Only a few ideas on what you guys do when you go out night fishing.

Lighted slip bobbers with a jig and a minnow is a pretty popular spring night fishing technique.

Whatever technique you choose you should have a headlamp! It offers handsfree lighting for retying or baiting your hook etc.
