View Full Version : Champion Fishhunter
I,m looking at a 1998 Champion Fishhunter with a 200 Suzuki does anyone have any experience with a similar rig? What are the advantages or shortcomings of fishing with this rig.It is also outfitted with a 9.9 kicker and 65 lb.bowmount trolling motor.

Great boat I even considered one for myself until I had a few incidents with a particular Champion dealer in Bloomington. If your looking at Dan's South Side Marine be extremely careful when dealing with this guy.

I have had several Champions and would recommend them highly. They are a very dry riding boat and take big water well. The factory has went out of their way for me to handle any problems that have come up. As far as fishability, they tend to be a little crowded if you have more than 2 people, 3 is OK, 4 is almost out of the question. If it suits your style of fishing and the price is right buy it; I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I had a 1999 with a 225 Suzuki, 9.9 etc. As far as the ride, I have not ridden in a smoother boat. The layout is designed for two people, any more than that makes fishing difficult, more so when trolling.
I went to another brand of boat because my family is getting larger and needed more room for fishing, but would not hesitate to buy another if some changes were made to the interior. Just my 2 cents.
