I have a problem... I went through and selected some maps off the given software. But I can't get my computer to see the MMC card on the interface???

Also, am I missing something? If you can't hook the x-15 to the computer, how do you download the online upgrade? On the MMC card?

Thanks for any help!

LAST EDITED ON May-08-01 AT 09:59PM (CST)[p]Yes you down load the update to ypur MCC card. You down load it to a file like My Briefcase of My Documents from Lowrance. Then you open it and from there you go to your Start Menu and go to Programs and you will see the somthing that says Update and when you click on the it will let you download the update to your MCC card. After you download it to the MCC card go to your MCC browser and see if it took. Then put it in your X15 and it will automatically download it.

BB- download the update to your MMC card and then put the card into the X-15, turn the power on, and it will load in a few seconds. Make sure your MMC Interface is hooked up correctly into a parallel port and to the keyboard jack for power. Put your keyboard plug into the other leg of the "Y" to complete the connection. Good Luck, JC

Well, maybe the keyboard part is my problem??? I have a laptop and I the only other port I have is the outside port for a mouse? (I had to use the adapter plug that they supply)

How do I hook-it up to my IBM ThinkPad???

Thanks---I now understand how to update! Now if I can figure out how to get it to read the MMC card I can try it out!

I had the same problem with my laptop. I couln't get the MMC reader to recognize the card. I used a desktop computer and I had no problems. In the end, it wouldn't work with my laptop but will with a desktop. No idea why. Good luck.

You should be able to connect the keyboard plug into the mouse port on your laptop. It works on mine just fine. Make sure you have the card reader plugged in to the mouse port and the parallel port before you power up the laptop or it wont work.

Good Luck

Yep! I did that. I tried 5 times replugging and rebooting? Maybe my MMC Interface is shot?

Do they make a USB port attachment. Alot simpler, plug and play, with no rebooting. Parallel and Serial are dying out no future in new PCs.

(((WARNING))) Venting words will follow!

Well, it still doesn't work... I put a call into Lowrance, wow... they are NO help! The guy (Russ?) gave me one idea and told me to call back, at his extension, if it didn't work! Well, surprise, it didn't work and I called him back at 8:30am on the 10th and I still have not heard back from him as of 10:00pm! What a F'n joke. They don't give a crap if I get it working or not. This is just bull. I even had my computer tech at the office look at it and he says it is a hardware problem in the interface. Does no part of this thing work?

Ya ya ... I know its great when it works, but this is just rediculous................................

I hope PinPoint gets their GPS/Sonar unit out soon.
