I recently purchased a pro v le this year love the boat but the trailer in my opinion is not up to snuff. It is a Shorelander with disc brakes and 4400# axles under it the local marine tells me that i can not just buy a eagle by itself because the only way to get one is as a package from lund i myself think its just BS coming from a salesman who is pissed because i bot the boat in Minn. not here in Iowa from him so if anyone can help me with a little direction to were to go our how to fix the problem i would greatly apprecite it!!!!!!!!!><>><>

He could be right. I just pulled up the Eagle web site, and the site indicates that it builds custom trailers for specific manufacturers of boats.

The following numbers are for Eagle, and you might give them a call and ask your questions.

p.s. They do make wonderful trailers.

We begin with a supurb fit between hull and transport, to provide the best protection for your boat. We add precision engineering and uncompromising construction, for quality, durability, and years of satisfying use. We build in features that make it easier and more convenient to transport your boat, and then we meticulously finish each trailer with color-matched, automotive-grade paint, to ensure that your boat will look as good trailered up as it does on the water.

We offer you the ultimate in fit, function and finish, because each Eagle Trailer is designed, built and detailed for a specific boat. Our engineers were among the first to use advanced computer aided technology to precisely locate bunks for consistent hull support. The bunks, along with the superior strength of our one-piece frame and heavy duty suspension, work together to give you a smooth ride and better handling during transport. And the simple, self-centering design of our trailers makes loading and launching your boat easy and convenient.

Eagle products range from trailers for small boats and personal watercraft to multi-boat transports for boat manufacturers, as well as everything in between. Each of our four trailer lines - Premier Edition, Special Edition, Spirit Edition and Marlin Series - is a package of features and options designed to meet the most demanding trailer needs.

As North America's premier supplier of custom trailers for the boating industry, we ensure your satisfaction by backing our products with the strongest warranty in the industry and features that put Eagle Trailers in a class by themselves.

Yes, you can buy that Eagle for your Lund, and it does'nt need to come from Lund. I've got an Eagle Fisherman (has four bunks and guides) and love it. Eagle trailers are made to fit your boat perfectly with no adjustments to the bunks what so ever. You will have to go thru your dealer to order one, but I would call Eagle and find out what the price is to make sure the dealer is'nt ripping you off....Glen

Oh, I just wanted to add that when I was at the Boat show last winter I had several Lund factory reps. tell me to get an Eagle or Trailmaster trailer for my Lund boat. And to stay away from the rest.

Marcus,

Your dealer is incorrect. Eagle trailers must be ordered through a participating dealer (perhaps your dealer is not?). If you phone for prices, they will not give one, but will refer you back to the dealer.
If your boat is not one that they have measured plans for (They have made them for Pro-V's so this is not the case), they will have someone come out tothe dealership and measure your hull, and make the custome trailer for it.
Suggestion: Opt for a model with 4 bunks. The center bunks near the keel guide the boat and center it while the outer bunks add additional support and surface area for supporting the boat.
I had an Eagle Marlin (galvanized 4 bunk) on a previous boat and must say loading was never so easy! They may be expensive, but they are well worth it!
Good Luck

He is definatly incorrect. I just got a quote from my local boat dealer (Nelson Marine in Whitebear Lake MN, I Talked to Tim)on a Eagle "Spirit" model for my Mr Pike 17. He gave me a price with trade in on my Shoreland'r (Which I hate). So go to a local dealer and I am sure you can get a price quoted.

Find an authorized Eagle dealer who is also an authorized Lund dealer and you should not have any problems getting a trailer. It does not have to be part of a package, although many dealers would prefer to sell them this way. You may even be able to contact Eagle to help locate a deal who has a trailer in stock for your model of boat. I ran across a few dealers in my search who had trailers for 98, 99, 2000 Lunds, but no boats for them. Good Luck, you'll be happy when it is done.

Sorry about the slow reply -- I searched the Twin Cities area dealers, (Nelson's, Erickson's, Hanney's, Pierz)... also Soo Sports in Sioux Falls, Paynesville Marine, and Tiger Marine in New London, MN. Stay away from Rosemount Boating Ceter. And good luck with the search if you haven't already found one.

Rosemount boating center changed there name to Rylar Marine. Like that will do anygood. They sold there showroom and now all there boats sit outside.

You can buy an Eagle trailer from anyone who handles them. I had a Spartan trailer with my Mr. Pike 16. One of the worst mistakes I ever made as far as purchasing a product. I hated everything about it! I sold it outright to a guy who sells boats as a sideline out of his backyard and purchased an Eagle. One of the best moves I have ever made!

Marcus,
I recently purchased an Alumacraft 195 and the dealer recommended an Eagle trailer. I have been very happy with this trailer. Loading has never been easier with any other trailer. With the bunk style guides, all you have to do is get the boat close. The trailer will do the rest. Eagle did send someone out to the dealership to measure the boat. Maybe you can call Eagle and set up a trailer fitting for your boat. The number for Eagle Trailers is 731-284-2310. Hope you can get an Eagle, you won't regret it.

Good luck,
Scott

Please go to your local Lund dealer and have them call 734-284-2310. Ask for sales and they can order it for you.

You will have no problem buying an Eagle trailer without the boat. I know several dealers that would be happy to sell you one. I have a Prestige Trailer under my ProV 1775. It is a 6 bunk trailer and the boat loads with no effort at all. Even in a current. They custom make them for each model of boat and will color cordinate it to boot. Mark

you can get an eagle trailer from any dealer without the aid of a boat package. I am a dealer for eagle in northwest wisconsin and just bought one for my 1850 fish hawk.

Good luck on your searching.

I just purchased an Eagle Pro-Fisherman with my boat this year mostly due to the comments on this board and some fellow fisherman. I also added surge brakes...which I now feel was another wise choice. I had the opportunity to pull my new boat on a loaner trailer w/o surge brakes while my Eagle came in. Night and day difference in stopping, I feel my investment is better protected in the event I REALLY need those brakes.

I love everything about the Eagle trailer this far. The only minor issue I had was a ground wire screw that wasn't making good contact. I won't go into the multiple repairs I had to make on the brand new loner trailer I had, by another manufacturer, in the 3 weeks I used it.

The Eagles sound like the way to go! Does anyone know a ball park price for a trailer that fits an 1800 pro-v?

The Eagle trailer for my Alumacraft came as part of a package. The boat dealer suggested an insurance value at $2800. (Single axle Pro-Fisherman w/surge brakes, spare, jack, crome wheels)
