I currently have 6 "wedge" style seat bases in my boat and am frustrated with them because of there very difficult removal.
Instead of replacing the bases I would like to know if anyone has info on the adapters out there that convert a wedge style base to a 3/4" pin style base. I saw them a few years back but the marine dealer I saw them at has since closed up. I have checked Cabellas, Bass Pro, Overtons, Reeds etc but don't believe I saw them there. Any help?

I have one that converts a taperlock to a pin mount. works very well I would recomend it if you can find them, got mine at either bass pro or cabelas. Maybe check springfield mounts they may have a web site.

A little WD40 on both parts should help.

If you want to end that problem forever, take a sheet of kitchen plastic wrap and place it over the hole. Set the seat in the hole pulling the plastic down in with it. Trim off the excess and you will have a problem free seat base. Replace the plastic as required after several post remove/installs.

Smooth running!
