Lund Model year?

Thanks for your time.
I'm looking in to buying a used Lund. It was advertised as a '92, but upon questioning, the seller isn't exactly sure what year it is. He gave me a serial number (4004), stated that it had bench seats but he had put in a flat floor, and it is rated at 50hp - 16ft. Does anyone know how I can determine what year this boat was produced?

There is a plate riveted to the transom of the boat, on the outside.The last two numbers of that serial number tell you what year that boat was made.

I told him that. Have they always had those number on them? He seems to find only a serial number of 4004, and I don't think it was made in 1904.

As your looking at the back of the boat the plate should be on the right side, near the top of the transom. By the description you gave I would say this boat is on of the SSV models. check there online catolouge and you can match them up.

I think you will find that the serial number on that boat will have about 12 digits in it.I think it will start with LUN then have about 9 numbers and or letters after that.
