The Swivl-Eze seats on my Crestliner are getting tighter and squeaker to turn all the time. The question is what is the right way to lube these seats? Don't want to make it worse by using a lube that attacks the plastic parts. Also, I found their website, but it's not too helpful. Not even an email address so I could ask them.

Thanks,

Scott

I use a bar of soap the ones from a hotel work the best as you can put it right in and work it in. Makes for an easy release of you seat.

Everyone has the same problems with these seats. Look in the archives, there was recently a long series of posts with different ideas.

I have these seats on my Crestliner. Here's what I've found to work the best. Clean all dirt and grease from the mounting holes and the bottom of the pedestals with alcohol. Put Armorall on the nylon sleeves in the mounting holes and let it dry overnight. Reinstall the pedestal without any lubricant. If the pedestals stick in the mounting holes, pour cold water on them and they should come free.

Remove the seats from the pedestals and clean good with alcohol. lubricate these with grease, silicone or graphite. I use Lubriplate grease which works well. DO NOT USE WD40 ON ANYTHING AS THIS COLLECTS DIRT AND DRIES OUT.

Repeat this a couple of times a season and you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck.
