Forest Preserve Lake

There is a lake near my house where they stock some walleyes. Last stocking was in 1996 though. No boats are allowed so you have to shore fish. The water is clear and lots of heavy weeds along the coves. Friend of mine pulled a 6lb walleye but that was the only one I saw. Heard there was 9-10 lbs in there if you can find them. Any suggestions where I can better my chances of finding where the walleyes would be at? The bottom is mostly rocks and can see no downed trees anywhere in the lake. The 20' region (about 50' from closest shoreline) is in-accessable even though it looks like it is close to the piers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
