Just a thought. Any disadvantages to vinyl floor? Seem it would be easier to keep clean, thats why I would want it.
Also what does this option generally cost?
Thanks

I have the vinyl flooring in my Alaskan 18 footer, its awesome all you have to do is hose it out, alot easier then the carpet. For costs not sure?My boat was one year old when i bought it second hand.FISH ON.

i am planning on remodeling my boat and was wondering if these vinyl floors are slippery when wet or if they have snow on them
Zodak, Lund gives the vinyl floor as a no cost option. The down side is resale. Not everyone wants the Vinyl floor utility look. Whatever you choose I know you will own a great boat. Tom

I guess it depends on where you live.Up here most people want the vinyl flooring Moose hunters duck hunters etc.As for slip its anon slip vinyl, have used mine in heavy rain and no problem.Myself can't see myself ever wanting carpet to much maintenance the vinyl just makes more sense to me,i fish alot so its the choice for me.FISH ON.

You can easily hose out a carpeted boat, just takes longer to dry. I do it all the time, looks like new when done. Its nicer too on those hot lazy summer days when you want to walk around barefoot.
(Just watch out for those hooks you dropped!) Not really criticising vinyl, just thought you should know that the present carpets they use now are easy to maintain. One word of advice though if go with carpet..Grey !! shows the dirt the least.Dark blue or green shows every little piece of debris ,fishing line etc.

I've had boats with carpet, gelcoat grid and now vinyl in my Lund. I vote for vinyl. As far as it being hot, maybe if you got black? But, mine is kind of a cream or tan, and I've been bare foot in it several times on HOT days. No problem. I duck hunt besides fish, and I can tell you, mud from boots comes out of the vinyl boat much easier than carpeted. So far, I've not had a problem with it being slick. I'm sure it will be if it freezes, but my carpeted boat was slick when it frosted...so I don't see the difference. In my experience, vinyl is much much much easier to take care of. Carpet looks a little better, but I like the utility of vinyl.

Maybe they should offer snap in carpet as on option, like most of the runabout type boats do these days. That way you could have the best of both worlds.
Vinyl floors are great. BUT.. as someone said "why do they go cheap and put plywood under the flooring?" Aluminum would be a lot better and make more sense.
