I would like to take my son out this summer just to familierize(sp) him of being in a boat. He is 21 months old and weighs about 25lbs. I cannot find a PFD that is rated for under 30lbs. I tried Fleet, Gander, Scheels. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks people.

Good luck!!
West Marine has some of them, down to 30#. In "search" plug in "child's pfd" and it will take you to what they stock. My 15# dog loves the pet pfd I bought her through them. http://www.westmarine.com

Both Stearns and kent make an infant/toddler size rated for 0-30lbs.The Stearns vest is a little nicer,it has both a zipper and buckles(Fleet Farm $24.99).The Kent vest is buckles only($18.99 @ Wal-Mart)I just picked up one of the Stearns vests for my son.Enjoy your time on the water with your son, hope he likes the water.

LAST EDITED ON May-11-01 AT 08:12AM (CST)[p]I got one at K-Mart.
My son who is a little older (not much) loves the boat. I hope your son does too!
Beware of the mysterious "blooopppp" sounds. You never know what's going in the drink! We've already lost a fishing pole and countless other "bloooppps". It's all worth it though.
Enjoy!!!

Most probably have this, but make sure it has a strap that runs between the legs. This keeps the jacket from sliding up over the head.

You can borrow an infant or toddler size PFD from the South Dakota Game and Fish Department. Just check them out at the nearest office.

Check with your fishing partner, he might have one hanging in a closet.
