Anybody got any contacts or info about aluminum hull repair. I put a small hole (dime size) plus two cracks in my welded Tracker aluminum hull. I had a welder patch it (from the outside), but the welds broke free and now the hole is even bigger. The hull is .100 gauge. I live in the SW Ohio area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should of went to a welder that actually knows how to weld aluminum. The local racing boys should know someone.

from what I understand is that the weld is ok but the area right next to the weld is heat treated because of the welding heat and is brittle and breakes off making the hole even bigger. Some heat treating befor welding & after ie. sloow cooldown (just what is a art)whould be in order. There is also a aluminum solder that works very well for a pach.Ihave seen al cans soldered to lawn chairs frames that you wouldnt believe. ,uses propane torch but must be very clean and use stainless steel wire brush only.

I don't know how confident you are with your welding skills, but this is some of the best stuff I have ever used. You can order this online and uses a regular propane torch. Real easy to use, it has to be if I can use it with good results. The addy is http://www.durafix.com/
Hope this helps, Ode
