I have the x-15MT and am having the following problems. The temp read out only works part of the time, most of the time it blinks 32 degrees which means it isn't getting a reading. Also, I lose sonar signal when I reach any speed at all, like anything over about 10 miles an hour. I realize that you won't read fish at speed but this won't even give me a depth reading. It just blinks 60 feet and shows no bottom contour. I often like to cruise along watching for drop offs and stuff but this unit won't allow me to do that. Has anyone else had problems like this and if so, what can i do to get them fixed?
Thanks all

This is your lucky day, at least I thingk it is! LOL My tournament partner was experiencing the same problems with his X-15 as you are, but I wasn't (I have an identical unit). We downloaded the newest software version (1.9) from the Lowrance web site and that took care of the problems. Tight lines

Donny, You will ned to try two different things to try to make it work for you. First, you will need to do a reboot. To do this, first: hold the pages key in, while pushing the on button. Hold the pages key in while the unit powers up, and after 3 to 5 seconds, it will make a beep type noise, this will reboot the computer. If this does not make it read any depths, then go into the menu button and select depth, and manually set you depth by scrolling to the required depth, and then press enter. You really should go back several pages in the message board and read the posts about the X15 unit, as there is some valuable information there that should save you some phone time with LEI. Gotta go for now, its time to go racing. I will go back and bring the messages to the top, and hopefully some of the ppl that will be experiencing problems can read them also.

Donny, I too have one of yhese wonderful units and am experiancing some of the same problems that you are. I've rebooted this thing over 20 times, like you when I have it on and run over 20mph. it goes goofy, with all kinds of bottom readings, and the only way to get it back on line is to reboot. I now shut it off when I move to a differnt spot. I was in a tourny. today and my pardner just shook his head and asked if I could get my money back. Reddog has some good ideas, I wouldnt even bother to call Lowrance, unless you have a hour to burn, it WILL take that long to get by all the recordings, and talk to somebody, and then they will tell you to reboot the thing. I AM VEEEEERRRRRY DISSATAFIED WITH THIS UNIT AND LOWRANCE. COONDOG. p.s. if you get it to go let me know how you did it.
