Considering on installing an on board battery charger would like some suggestions on a good brand, one that won't last a few seasons and have to throw it away. Also are the worth the investment the one's I have looked at are quite expensive.

Guest on board chargers are my choice. Their custumer support is unequaled and the quality of their product is excellent. They offer many models to fit any anglers needs. My 2 cents worth

Guest is the best choice. Look at charge rate verses cost, 2 bank or 3 bank, to determine what you need.

the system lund uses is the best thing since sliced bread. with all the electronics and pumps we having running nowadays, i would suggest the three bank unit. your outboard charging system is not going to keep up when making short runs between spots or the ramp when you have been using the electric motor or are anchored for long periods of time with all the livewells etc. running.

I would also recommend Guest products. I had a 2 bank 10/10 Guest. I only ran a 12 volt TM but used the other bank to keep my starting battery fully charged between uses. Don't get anything less than 10 amps per bank. I found out the hard way that if you use your TM all day and drain it, the 5 or 6 amp bank will not fully re-charge it overnight.

I concur with the opinion on Guest chargers. I installed one 3 years ago, and havent given it a thought since then.

Get a 10-amp per bank with a bank for each battery. I have a Charging Systems International charger. I bought a Guest first but was turned off by how much heat they generate; something like a 75 or 100 watt light bulb. The CSI charger only gets warm to the touch and has soldered, not crimped, connectors. The Guest charger I got from Cabela's had one of the connectors pulled out.

Go with the 3 bank, one for the starting battery that way you know it is allways toped off. Knock on wood going on my 4th year on my Gueast not a problem.

Good luck,KLH

Guest without a doubt. You could buy them strictly on quality but the thing most often and easiest to overlook is the people at the company. The people at Guest are first rate. Sue at Guest frequents this board and is available all the time to answer any questions or concerns. Not happening from any other company. I have two Guest chargers on my boat and they are awesome.

Love my CSI chargers. I've have one on each of my two Rangers. The two-bank on the first one, and now the three-bank on my present boat. I can't tell you anything about customer service because (knock wood) I've never had a problem.

Actually, I have a feeling, from the positive responses about Guest chargers, that you'll be just fine with either brand.
