Can anyone help me compare the Johnny Morris from Bass Pro to the St. Croix Avid series? The JM is 85 million modulus graphite with Fuji SIC guides. They say its made by a British company that I have never heard of. Bass Pro had them on sale for 25% off, regular price is 169.99. It seems like a good rod, so I grabbed a 6'6" med. heavy while the sale was on. If I find out the Avid is a better rod, I can return it. Thanks for your help.

How do you plan to use it? I see you ordered MH for which the Johnny Morris will be fine. In general, I would say the Avid is going to be a much better Walleye rod where sensitivity and/or finesse is involved. Again, How do you plan to use it?

Steve,
I was going to use it mostly for bass and pike, worming and pitching jigs. I spoke to someone at St.Croix today and found out the JM had better guides, but the Avid is a better blank. Just as you said, more sensativity, I want that in a worm rod. I took the JM back to Bass Pro tonight.
Thanks for your reply.

Which Bass Pro do you live by? I'm 30 minutes from the Gurnee,IL store. Just curious.
