I don't know about the rest of you, but when I put any product with DEET in it,(most of bug repelants have em) ..I don't feel as good as without it (hard to explain) but I know that children esp can react violently to DEET. I believe NYS has banned any products with more than about 18% DEET for children....
Most of the natural stuff hasn't worked for me,...except something called GREEN BAN,....maybe it doesn't work for everyone,but for my chemistry it really works very well,...and it doesn't evaporate like DEET does,...for me it works very well for mosquitos,deerflys,and horseflys. Doesn't seem to work for greenheads (don't know if you have these where you are ) not sure it works all that well for black flies,.haven't been into them while I've had the Greenban,....but I don't think the DEET products work very well for them either IMO,...I have heard that Oil of Bergamont does,....haven't tried it,...anyone have a 'cure" for them other than covering up w/a head net...
