Another X - 15 Problem

I have a Apleco 5160 Marine radio with an 8ft Glassmaster antenna.And over the weekend I noticed that the squelch did not work so I had static. When I turned the X-15 off the static went away and the squelch worked fine. I unplugged the GPS antenna and the transducer and the static was still there. I tried a separate battery and that did not help. The X-15 and the radio are about 2 1/2 feet apart and I took the antenna off and moved it to the back of the boat about 8ft from the X-15 and it seemed to help a little but the static was still there and I also unplugged the antenna from the radio and the static went away. I never cut the wire from my marine radio and antenna so its about 10 feet long and I don't know if that is the problem. Is there a difference in the quaility of antennas. Has anyone had this problem.

I have the same problem only it's with my FM radio. When I have the boat pointed east the FM radio turns to static. If I turn off the lcx-15mt the static is gone. Turn it back on, static. If I rotate the position of the boat the static is gone. If I unplug the GPS module while the lcx-15mt is on the static is gone. It's a real pain.
