August 4th and 5th. Out of Barcelona Harbor in Westfield, NY. Mark your calendars and if you haven't jumped in yet you are going to miss a good one!
For anyone new here or those who just haven't seen the previous posts, the event will be held on Saturday and Sunday. A cookout and tournament are in the works. NO BOAT? or.. TOO SMALL A BOAT for Erie? No problem. Several guys have room on their boats. If your rig is to small for Erie, Chautauqua Lake is 15 miles away. This lake holds excelent #'s of walleye and trophy musky. We will also use Chautauqua as a backup for the tournament if Erie is blowing.
If this isnt enough to get your intrest top it off with the nations top pros fishing a 3 day tournament here when the PWT comes to town on August 8-10th!
Any questions or need help finding lodging e-mail Sluggo at jcstack@us.ibm.com or Gilligan at fforsythe@adelphia.net

Gilligan,
I just sent Sluggo an e-mail with my particulars. I'm sure he can forward a copy to you.
We are planning to come and have our reservations made for Friday and Saturday nights. I will be bringing my brother-in-law and oldest son with me. We are really looking forward to it! Hope Erie is compliant that weekend.
BTW how much is a New York seasonal license for a non-resident?

I'd love to come up and see all the walleyecentral gang but I'd be afraid to make the 9 hour trip to find out my boat is too small because of the weather conditions (Yea, I know I can fish the other lake, but would really likr to see Erie in New York)
Does anyone have room for one more in their boat?

LAST EDITED ON May-15-01 AT 11:27AM (CST)[p]I can't guarantee it, but, if one of mine is a no-show you're welcome in my boat. Besides, if there are 20 WC folks responding, so far, I would figure that is at least 10 boats! Those odds ain't bad! On the other hand, you can get away with a lot in smaller boats, on Erie, and still be safe as long as you have freeboard. If you have a low-to-the-water bassboat type you may not get out on Chautauqua either. A LOT of folks run 14-16 foot boats on Erie, every day. If it starts out nice and you get out, common sense will guide you or my radio will! If the lake is too much for your boat out in Walleye water (some miles - like 7+) it is usually OK nearer the shore, than, you can smack the Smallies around. That's a big kick for me as well. Often, if the Walleyes' aren't cooporating, we will come in and fish the Smallies. Tempest in a tea pot!! :-) I can guarantee you that if Erie is UP I'll think twice about going out. Chautauqua is a GREAT Walleye/Musky fisherie. I would not be disappointed if we ended up there instead of Erie.

Guys/Gals,
Relax about boat availability. There will be 150 pros there looking for extra rods. I for one will try to get as many peole in my boat as possible. Only problem is my boat is spoken for already. I will help anyone I can get matched with other pros for a day or two. I know several people that have no practice partners lined up.
It will be no problem getting on the lake with someone. Don't miss this fishery. Things will be smokin'!

I don't know how big of rig you have, but we do fine with a 18' Lund Fisherman out there. Obviously, we pick our days and keep a close eye on the weather, but we've never had a problem. I'm not sure if I'll have two or three guys yet, but if I've got room, you're welcome to ride along. As the others said..just come!..we'll find you a seat if you need one! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

It looks like this is coming together real well. Nice job guys. I plan on making reservations this week. Hopefully at the Theater Motel. After all the comments about small boats, I've decided that I'll probably bring mine. It's a 15' Smokercraft with a 25 h.p., so it may end up on the trailer all weekend. I also plan on bringing a couple of digital cameras. For any of you with film cameras, I should also have a good supply of film available at no cost. Looking forward to finally meeting everyone in person.
