I am not real profficient with my computer so haven't done the download yet. What cables would I need for the hook-up? I don't have any now as I did not get the gps package. Suppose I should get the cable and try. Is it a pain in the neck to install? My unit flashes 60 feet anytime I go above 10 mph and never gives me a temp read out. I know it will be a great unit if i can work the bugs out.

If you bought a X-15 you got everything you need. You download the upgrade to the MMC card using the MMC interface then insert the MMC card into the X-15. You can leave the locator on the boat.

Since you did not buy the mapping package you did not get the MMC reader/programmer or an MMC card. These are the two items that you need in order to download info from Lowrance, to your PC, then tranfer the info to an MMC card to install into your unit. I read somewhere that you could hook directly from PC to the X15, but that it takes alot longer to do it that way. The manual that comes with the unit is of little help, and the people at Lowrance are of even less help. Contact your local Lowrance dealer and they should be able to get you the hardware that you need. Good Luck! You'll need it with this unit.
