GlobalMap 3000 Users?

Anyone running a GlobalMap 3000 on your boat? Wondering if you have any recommendations (for or against).

I like the 3000 and I believe they have some good deals on them right now. The question I have is what kind of locator do you have and if it is as good as the one in the X-15. You might be better off maybe buying a combo unit. The X-15 is the same GPS for the most part as the 3000 with a nice sonar unit in it. Check it out.

I'm also shopping for a GPS. One of my parameters is to get one w/ WAAS. I can see that I can get a Garmin 162 w/ WAAS for about $400.00. but it has a small screen in comparison to globalmap 2000/3000 or x-15. Does anyone know if your lowarance units come w/ WAAS?

I seriously considered the X-15 but figured the Lowrance sonar would interfere with the Pinpoint system on the console. The best compromise seemed to be using the Pinpoint for depth/charting and use a GlobalMap 3000 for GPS.

Being a Pinpoint owner I'm holding out until Spring which is when, according to latest reports, their GPS add-on will be available. I know we've heard this story before, but this time there have been posts by beta testers--so I'm hopeful!!
