View Full Version : Minn Kota Genesis
I am looking at a Minn Kota Genesis 55 auto pilot with 35 to 52 inch shaft. Anyone out there have one and if so have you had any problems with it. Looks like it would be a nice addition to my boat and add to my fishing pleasure. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

When the motor came out new, I bought the 24V system, I liked the features but I had alot of problems with it, so I took it back and got a regular AP, they may have refined them a little more by now, but I know I will not get another one till I am a little more confident they have fixed the problems, when I took it back to the store, the person who came out to get it out of my truck said " OH, another one of these to return", those type of comments just reinforced my decision to replace it. Good luck, and I hope there is someone out there who has one and is happy with it.

Typical new problems. They claim they have gotten the problems out of them now. When I fished the RCL at Devils Lake they sure were alot of them on the front of some of the better knowns. That says something to me. I just wish they would come out with a 36 volt system.

I have the 72AP Genesis, and fished with it all summer without any problems. Works great when the kids are in the front of the boat and I don't have to step around them. Good luck.

I have a 72AP Genesis. Great motor with no problems. I'd buy on again
