Maybe this has been talked about before, but has anybody tried a rhino tuff application on their trailer frames? I think thats what it is called , its the spray on bed liner stuff. I drive a lot on gravel roads, and although my boat fares well, my Ranger Trail trailer after 1 season looks like a bad sandblasting job. My last trailer was a galvanized one and thou it was not pretty, it looked the same 5 years later, just wondering if that rhino job is worth it, thanks

Had the same problem. This spring I painted the darn thing with Herculiner. Worked great! Haven't had any problems with sandblasting or with the product peeling off. The only disadvantage is the stuff is rough and will wear through web straps that attah to boat cover. Solution for me was to take 1" clear tubing and insert the web strap into the tubing and positioned tubing @ trailer to prevent damage to straps. Well worth the time and effort knowing I won't have to sand/respray the trailer next year!

You are right herculiner will work great. Another idea is a company called trailer armor and it looks like clear vinyl that goes over the trailer its kinda pricey but it looks great as well. I know they make them for Ranger Trail trailers as I saw it on a Ranger Bass Boat.

Another "clear" vinyl product that will last a couple years at least is called Stone Guard or Rock Guard. It's available in aerosol cans at NAPA. Not as durable, but it's cheap compared to Hercules bed liner.

Does the Hercules stuff only come in black? I found their website and that is all they showed.

When I checked their site saw multiple colors. Went w/black cause thats all Menards and most other stores carried and didn't want to wait. Went whit just the small can w/o the tape, roller etc.. Double coated all areas facing the truck for added protection. 1 can covered all those ares with a little to spare. To do the entire trailer (17' boat) it would take 2 cans. Saw @ Menards last week the same stuff on clearance for around 20.00 p/can. Winter blow out.

Does anyone know if you can paint it after it is cured?
