What does the grayline tell me? How should I set it to maximize this tool?

What would sand look like? What would weeds look like? What would a very hardbottom look like?

THanks

I have got a good unit and shows detail well. A softer mud bottom will show up with a thinner black line. the harder the bottom gets their will be a grey line on top of the darker. This is usually sand. As I go over rocks the grey portion is much thicker and a double will apear. you need to have your sensitivity set correctily to interpret the changes. I run mine a little more sensitive than what comes from the factory. Weeds will show up like a mat, the more weeds the thicker the mat. Hope this helps.

On my LMS350A I followed Keith Kavajecz's recommendation and set it to 30%. As said, it will show you soft and hard bottoms, as well as transition areas.
